Touhou Kouchakan

(this is fan-made, and not an official beta copy of EoSD!)
Scouring the dying hard-drive of an old PC-9821, the remains of what appeared to be an early, nonfunctional build of a trial version of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil were uncovered. With a bit of hard work and dedication, the game has been put together in a working state again, having been translated and optimized to work on modern-day computers.
Why not take a look at what the game could've been?
During a peaceful summer in Gensokyo, an unnatural scarlet mist appeared without warning. It covered most of the land, and was strong enough to block sunlight, too...
Wield the shrine-maiden-ly prowess of Reimu Hakurei, the extraordinary magic of Marisa Kirisame, and the █████████ ██ ██████ ██████ with ███ ███████ to solve the incident! Featuring 3 playable stages, dance through a unique iteration of the danmaku that introduced many to the beloved series.
Multiple playthroughs are encouraged.
This "recreation" was brought to life by everyone in Mirage Creators.

idk how you're supposed to beat meiling since she kinda just pops out of existence during one of her attacks
I found that you either need to be super precise (I found that I was able to beat her within the timeframe by using Reimu-Needle), or you can cheese it with the Cheat Engine the game lets you use.
i know there's a debug mode but i have no idea how to use it
i'm just confused at how you people can figure this out i don't understand
The debug mode is mentioned in the game's readme. Pressing F12 or clicking "Player -> Cheat" in the F3 IMGui menu will give you invincibility, which will allow you to shotgun Meiling without having to worry about dodging her attacks.
it's not about dodging attacks, it's about doing enough damage before she pops out of existence regardless of the timer
i even used marisa and that wasn't enough
I’ve found I’m consistently able to beat her with all shot types if I lose all my lives in Stage 1 to get the Full Power item, and then use the invincibility cheat to make sure I can hit her without missing any bullets.
Reimu-Needle is probably your best bet for damage, and I was able to beat her without the cheat engine with it, the fight’s just a bit precise without the cheat.
That cheat engine is super helpful for the fight against Meiling!

i love this take on touhou spookies, so much!! its kinda like shipwrecked 64 with rin being "playable", and the occasional random scary things each run. 10/10 would shoot again
